Course Introduction

The User Interface Design course enables participants to devise the optimal way to present information to end users via desktop and mobile devices. Taught by an industry expert, the course gives participants the opportunity to look at User Interface Design from the user’s point of view, focusing on their needs and usability requirements.

Participants will understand how to design products where the behaviour and appearance of intuitive interfaces create an effective and engaging experience for the user.

  • A video presentation of the prototype

Essential Requirements

  • Experience in digital design - including experience working on digital design solutions (websites, branding etc.)
  • As part of our application process, participants will take a simple, online suitability assessment for their chosen course. Based on their answers, this will confirm that participants have the skills and experience required for a successful outcome.

Optional Requirements

  • Awareness of the Adobe Suite

10 hours (comprising a weekly average of 5 taught hours plus 5 additional hours on average for self-study, research and group work)

Participants will be given a number of course-specific assignments that both reinforce the learning and provide work-based experience of applying new skills. All assignments are subject to a rigorous assessment framework. Assessments for this specific course include a weekly quiz, low and hi-fi wireframes, and a prototype.
