Course Introduction

Taught by an industry expert lecturer, this course introduces methodologies and learning styles for delivering training, facilitating teamwork and optimising the completion of digital projects.

Participants perform a digital skills training needs analysis for group projects, design and adapt mentoring programmes according to learner needs and implement effective assessment methods for digital teams.

Fostering cross-cultural and multi-location online teamwork, this course will also help participants build on interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

This course is for participants who need the training skills necessary to help their organisation’s digital teams bridge a skills gap, to foster cross-national teamwork, and to ensure successful completion of digital projects.

On completion of this course, participants will have covered:

  • The evaluation of different adult-learning theory and approaches and apply them to specific training and facilitation requirements
  • The analysis of performance issues
  • The design of digital learning programmes
  • The planning, preparation and delivery of training and facilitation sessions for digital project teams, or individuals/teams in the workplace
  • The assessment of learner achievements using appropriate evaluation methods

On completion of the course, participants will have gained the following set of skills immediately applicable to their business environment:

  • Application of approaches and techniques for conducting a training needs analysis
  • Analysis of training gaps in terms of knowledge, skills and attitudes
  • Creating lesson plans and practical activities/exercises to support learning
  • Developing relevant training content and materials
  • Confidence and presentation skills to deliver engaging training materials
  • A range of techniques to evaluate training and facilitation using the Kirkpatrick model

On completion of this course, participants will have created the following assets:

  • A project proposal to address a specific training need for a digital team
  • Conducted a real facilitation session for a group to improve their effectiveness
  • Takeaway’ resources including practical techniques, tips, checklists, prompt lists, templates and worked examples

As part of our application process, participants will take a simple, online suitability assessment for their chosen course.  Based on their answers, this will confirm that participants have the skills and experience required for a successful outcome.

8 hours (comprising a weekly average of 4 taught hours plus 4 additional hours on average for self-study, research and group work)

Participants will be given a number of course-specific assignments that both reinforce the learning and provide work-based experience of applying new skills. All assignments are subject to a rigorous assessment framework. Assessments for this specific course include group-work to complete a Training Project and working on an individual basis to complete a Facilitation Project. Participants will also take weekly quizzes.
