Course Introduction

Computational Thinking is the thought-process involved in solving problems, designing systems, assessing human behaviour and introducing innovative actions to overcome the complexity of change while delivering business results.

This course provides participants with the ability to apply decision theory, combining social psychology and behavioural economics to work-based business scenarios. Participants will investigate various cognitive biases and learn how to utilise a portfolio of decision-making tools from idea formulation to business solution delivery. They will develop adaptive problem-solving techniques, act as dynamic decision-makers whilst facing risk and uncertainty and build on their critical-thinking and leadership skills to deliver sustainable business solutions.

As part of our application process, participants will take a simple, online suitability assessment for their chosen course. Based on their answers, this will confirm that participants have the skills and experience required for a successful outcome.

10 hours (comprising a weekly average of 5 taught hours plus 5 additional hours on average for self-study, research and group work)

Participants will be given a number of course-specific assignments that both reinforce the learning and provide work-based experience of applying new skills. All assignments are subject to a rigorous assessment framework. Assessments for this specific course include a weekly quiz and a research piece into the various cognitive biases that impact our daily lives.
