Course Introduction

This course will provide participants with the skills and knowledge to identify and understand the core components and architecture of a web-based application. It introduces a range of server-side web technologies and languages used in the creation of intuitive web-based applications.

More specifically, participants use the PHP language and Code Igniter framework to design and develop a dynamic web-based application. By developing a complete client / server application, participants will be able to identify and explain the inner workings of a modern web application.

Impact On Upskilling Talent Pools

This course is for participants looking to acquire the necessary technical expertise in Server-Side Web Development. This delivers high-value benefits for organisations that are looking to address or expand coding and development skills amongst their existing talent pool. While upskilling is a vital enabler of recognition and retention for critical staff, developing talent in such a specialist field fosters the development of cost-effective and agile digital projects.

On completion of this course, participants will have covered:

  • How to build and publish a dynamic web application
  • Web Development tools
  • How to combine client-side interfaces with server-side processing and a database/CMS

  • OOP-PHP
  • Code Igniter
  • A deeper understanding of JSON

On completion of this course, participants will have created an object orientated PHP based web service.
